I am a classically trained first generation Chinese-American actress + poet who believes that storytelling is a necessary vehicle for healing, expansion + intersectional liberation.
As a woman of color in media, I bring my matrix of identities into everything that I do: I am Chinese, I come from an immigrant family, I am a first generation American + I am a queer woman of color.
While my performance background began with dance, my performance modalities range from classical text, poetry, performance art, butoh, puppetry + oral narrative storytelling.
I am the founder of the storytelling initiative + production company Collective Sex which has the mission of decolonizing storytelling. Most of my work in the areas of community organizing, executive producing + public speaking are in relation to this organization.

- Maridee Slater, The Reviews Hub
"Beyond empowering. Liu's performance blew me away entirely. The nuance with which she juggles multiple emotions is staggering -- horror, shame, rage, isolation, fear, desperation, sometimes all together -- I wanted to scream with her."
